Training - Health & Safety

Avonside Roofing has the welfare of its personnel and all those with whom they come into contact as its top priority. It has therefore developed and implemented policies and procedures to assure health and safety and associated training.

These policies apply at all levels within the organisation, as evidenced by Tony Burke, Group Managing Director, being NEBOSH qualified. In addition, all Avonside Roofing branch managers have undergone the NEBOSH Training programme, universally regarded as one of the toughest and most respected Health and Safety qualifications in the industry.

Avonside Roofing's contracts managers have also passed the IOSH qualification and the company's workforce is given regular training in a wide variety of Health and Safety issues, in the form of toolbox talks and structured training courses.

All this is supported by Avonside Roofing's introduction of a monitoring system to ensure that the health and safety standards of its workforce are maintained. Avonside recently supplemented its commitment with a new induction program for the personnel, which has to be completed prior to them being allowed on any site.

Legislation and the expectations of the industry never stand still. Avonside Roofing has therefore appointed an external health and safety consultant to perform random site inspections and deliver in-house training courses to enable the company to continue its focus on maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
